About Court 16:
Court 16 is a unique, member-focused tennis and pickleball club in Brooklyn, New York, dedicated to fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and inclusivity. Designed with both children and adults in mind, the club offers specialized programming to help players of all abilities develop strong technical foundations, discover their individual playing styles, and build lasting relationships. Court 16 prides itself on creating a welcoming environment that nurtures lifelong learning and promotes camaraderie among its members.
Project Details:
Ideoli Group was selected to enhance the indoor tennis and pickleball courts at Court 16 with a superior lighting system. The goal was to provide high-quality illumination that would meet the club’s unique demands, ensuring both functionality and safety for players. The lighting needed to cover expansive indoor spaces with even, bright light while maintaining a durable, shatter-resistant design to withstand the rigors of an active sports environment.
Custom Lighting Solutions:
Ideoli developed a specialized system of LED fixtures with high lumen output to effectively illuminate the courts. These fixtures were designed with shatter resistance in mind, ensuring safety for players in a high-energy indoor sports setting. A key feature of the lighting system was its ability to daisy chain, allowing for longer runs of fixtures to create uniform, well-distributed lighting across the expansive playing areas.
Collaborative Design Process:
Working closely with Court 16, Ideoli tailored the lighting solution to meet the club’s specific needs, ensuring the fixtures provided both superior brightness and resilience. The ability to daisy chain the LED fixtures allowed for flexibility in installation, ensuring the entire court space was evenly lit without the need for additional infrastructure. The collaboration ensured that the final lighting system not only enhanced visibility but also contributed to the overall experience for members and players.
