Ideoli was asked by its national furnishings retail chain client to help create brand awareness while standing out from other retailers in its popular California stores. The client requested a large, movable, custom “Z” light fixture with a gold-leaf finish and a high-quality look. The client envisioned something to help drive pedestrians from the street into their stores, while also being able to communicate their brand effectively to repeat customers.

To meet this goal, Ideoli engineered and manufactured a custom Z fixture using the highest-quality materials and finishes, along with customized LED technology to help bring it to life.

From design to prototype to fabrication, we created an 8-foot, interactive, backlit “Z” with LED lighting that has five preprogrammed color-changing scenes and attracts curious customers into our client’s stores, resulting in increased sales.

This showcase piece was rolled out to dozens of stores following the test store.

PRODUCE AN ALTERNATIVE TO A GOLD-LEAF FINISH WHILE KEEPING COSTS LOW: After sample testing and prototypes, we used automobile-grade paint with a specific finishing technique on a wooden light fixture, which gives the same appearance as a gold-leaf finish.
