    Holidays are great for Ideoli, retailers and consumers alike

    Ideoli realized that the holidays were a great shopping season. Everything was aligned. Customers were ready with high incomes and retailers were offering specials and discounts.

    Before the holidays “Consumers Will Spend More than Last Year,” by EuroShop Mag noted that, “Consumers said [say] they would [will] spend an average of 1,007.24 dollars during the holiday season this year, up 4.1 percent from the 967.13 dollars they said they would spend last year, according to the annual survey released today by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics.” Consumers focused on sales and quality in their purchases. And though gifts were at the forefront decorations and food were also purchased. 

    Traditionally, there’s not been anything like shopping in the malls, markets or brick and mortar stores. Consumers could have smelled the fragrance of the season – apple cider and pine trees. It gave shoppers, not only the opportunity to touch and feel their potential products, but try them on as well. But consumers have moved into e-commerce. And with this move, there were challenges. According to “Most Consumers Were ‘Let Down’ By Online Shopping Last Holiday Season,” by James Melton, “The disappointed consumers say they experienced problems such as later-than-expected deliveries, or receiving the wrong items.”

    Though, we at Ideoli realized that the holidays were a great shopping season. We needed to plan accordingly, knowing customers were ready — bringing high incomes and a list of potential purchases. We, as retailers, needed to confirm we have ample stock and offer specials and discounts.
